We investigated the drug compliance and the knowledge of medicines of ambulatory patient by a questionnaire survey.From a viewpoint on deficiency or excess of prescribed medicine,patients with good compliance were less than 50% or less of all.Comparing between the patients aged less than 70 years old and the patients over aged 70 years,it was recognized that the compliance of the latter was significantly better than the former. More than 90% of patients have answered that they know about the efficacy of their taking medicine.Additionally,the rate of the patients who recognized the effect of medicine in aged less than 70 years old was higher than in aged over 70 years old.Over 98% of all aged seemed to understand the way to take medicines.These data showed that there was not a strong correlation between the patient's knowledge of medicine and their compliance.The half of the patients over aged 70 years has a possibillity to show the side effect and the poor medicinal effect by poor complaiance.These results might suggest that it is necessary to guide the patient about the administration of medicine in consideration of adherence which took their life style and enviroment into account together with patients. |
